What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Production Team Member position at Pillbox Bat Company?
This *SEASONAL* position is a support role for our bat production positions through our MLB Postseason and 2026 Holiday season. The ideal candiddate will be available to work starting in October on a part-time basis, with the seasonal assignment lasting approximately 3-6 months.
The primary duty of this position is the operation of laser engravers to produce engraved products and minor woodworking tasks to prepare bats for production.
Experience in these areas is helpful but not required. Pillbox will train the right candidate. Key attributes of this position are being flexible, eager to learn new tasks, coachable, and a team player.
Although you will be working within a closely integrated team, many of your day-to-day responsibilities demand a high degree of self-direction, as you will mostly be working independently.
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
Shift Availability: Mornings (7-noon or 8-1 are preferred), Monday-Friday
DUTIES:
- Set up laser engravers for production runs, including material loading and machine configuration.
- Operate laser engravers to produce engraved products
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of laser engraving equipment.
- Perform quality control checks on engraved products.
Other possible tasks include:
- Perform peripheral production duties to support an efficient production workflow.
- Drill depressions for bat knob pins.
- Prep products for finishing – sanding and cleaning products.
- Assist in paint production as needed.
- Ensuring production supplies are stocked and staged for production.
- Aid in the maintenance of a clean work environment.
- Shipping and shipping prep.
- Assemble product hangtags and apply to products.
- Apply appropriate licensed stickers to products.
- Assemble products into retail packaging or shipping boxes and prepare for shipping.
