The Role
As a Commercial Lines Account Manager II, you'll oversee an established portfolio of commercial clients while providing outstanding customer service and insurance expertise. This position is well suited for an experienced insurance professional who enjoys building lasting client relationships, solving complex coverage challenges, and managing accounts from renewal through servicing.
Working closely with clients, insurance carriers, and internal team members, you'll ensure accounts are managed efficiently while helping clients make informed decisions about their insurance programs.
What You'll Do
- Independently manage a commercial book of business, delivering responsive, high-quality client service.
- Review client accounts to identify coverage gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen protection.
- Advise clients on policy options, endorsements, renewals, and coverage recommendations.
- Respond to client requests involving claims, certificates of insurance, premium audits, billing concerns, and loss control resources.
- Evaluate client risk exposures and recommend customized insurance solutions, including identifying cross-selling opportunities when appropriate.
- Partner with insurance carriers and underwriters to secure appropriate coverage and maintain strong carrier relationships.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all client activity within the agency management system.
- Lead renewal discussions by reviewing current insurance programs, market changes, and evolving client needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of commercial insurance account management experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, coverage concepts, and industry regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while communicating effectively with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with complex commercial or high-value accounts.
- Previous experience coaching or mentoring less experienced team members.
- Working knowledge of agency management systems and underwriting procedures.
