Position information:
Residential Program Specialist – Both Days and Evening Shifts (3:50pm – 11:50pm) Positions available
Description:
The Residential Program Specialist supervises and provides services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness residing in a State Operated Community Residence (SOCR). The goal of the SOCR program is to assist residents with developing their independent living skills to make a safe and successful transition to a more independent living environment. The Residential Program Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Residential Program Manager, to assist in the management and administration of the day-to-day operations of the residence including oversight of physical environment and adherence to policy and regulations. The Residential Program Specialist assists in the development of service planning, resident intake, admission, and discharge planning activities. The Residential Program Specialist supervises lower-level residential staff and serves as an assistant to the Residential Program Manager and as backup to all manager responsibilities in the absences of the manger.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State AND have one year experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness. A master’s degree in a health or human service related area* may be substituted for one year of the above experience.
OMH hospital employees must be fully vaccinated or willing to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Candidates who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 many not start working until two weeks after their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

- Appropriate health and human service degrees include sociology, psychology, education, rehabilitation, recreation therapy, nursing, speech pathology, audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, community mental health, music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, health administration, human services, counseling, nutrition, and criminal justice.

Salary : $54,903 - $69,882
