Commercial Construction Foreman

GENERAL CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN

Job Summary:

The General Foreman will oversee daily construction operations, manage crew members and equipment to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. The foreman directs a crew of 3-6 workers, and coordinates directly with the Project Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Lead, direct, and supervise a team of Laborers, Carpenters, and sub-contractors on construction projects.
• Coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure all team members are trained in safety procedures and equipment use.
• Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project progress, safety issues, and upcoming tasks.
• Ensure that the crew stays on task and meets daily goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plan the sequence of operations for current and upcoming projects, including resource allocation and timeline management.
• Review Job documents, blueprints and sequence of operations for the most efficient and safe way to conduct the job.
• Oversee the execution of the projects from the field, ensuring that all activities adhere to safety protocols.
• Ensure all needed materials are available and collect excess unused materials.
• Manage the transport and disposal of debris, as necessary for each job.
• Ensure the site is cleaned and restored post-operation, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, equipment usage, and material consumption for reporting purposes.
• Communicate directly with the Project Manager to discuss project details, progress, and any changes or issues that arise.
• Monitor attendance and track field employees’ time.
• Handle emergency responses or urgent requirements outside normal hours when necessary.
• Can perform the same duties as a carpenter and can train new employees.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Hands on knowledge and proficiency in commercial construction divisions.
• Advanced problem-solving capabilities for managing complex job sites.
• Proficient in operating power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, safety rules, and operational guidelines
• Mechanically inclined

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in Commercial Construction
• 1-2 years in a foreman or lead role.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL license preferred. (Driving record provided needed upon request).

Physical Requirements:

• Must be capable of performing physical activities such as bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
