Pilates Social Club is a contemporary reformer-Pilates brand with 6 active studios in Europe, opening two New York studios this fall: a Midtown East flagship on September 1, 2026, and a Financial District (FiDi) studio opening later this fall. We are a serious, design-led studio with the warmth of a real community — a place to train hard, be welcomed by name, and stay. We are hiring our opening Studio Manager now.

The role

The Studio Manager is the operational and cultural leader of our New York launch and a working teacher on the floor. You will be hired during our June–July hiring window, overlap closely with the founder for in-person onboarding, and then run day-to-day operations and hiring from mid-July through opening — with the founder working remotely on a weekly cadence with you. This is a player-coach role: you lead the team and you teach classes. Systems and software are set up centrally by the founder, so you focus on people and operations rather than tech configuration.

What you will own

· Lead the build-out closeout: punch-list, vendor management and final readiness with the contractor.

· Run the instructor and operations hiring with the founder and the Lead Instructor: auditions, references, offers.

· Teach group reformer classes on the schedule as part of the role — some teaching hours included in your base salary.

· Design the class schedule with the founder; run it day-to-day on the chosen platform.

· Onboard and train the full team — method, member experience, brand voice, operational standards.

· Plan and run soft-launch / friends-and-family classes, and own opening-week operations.

· Be the day-to-day decision-maker inside agreed budget and standards while the founder is remote.

· After opening: own daily operations, instructor scheduling, retention, and weekly reporting to the founder.

What we are looking for

· 1 year in boutique fitness, hospitality or members'-club operations in NYC, with some experience hiring or coordinating teams.

· A working instructor: comprehensive Pilates certification (400 hours) and group reformer teaching experience.

· Practical, organized, calm under pressure. Comfortable with a punch-list, a vendor call and an instructor interview in the same day.

· Numerate and P&L-aware. Can work with platforms like Mindbody and Wix.

· Excellent communicator who can drive a remote weekly cadence with the founder rather than needing daily check-ins.

· AI-native. You use Claude and Cowork every week to run faster — drafting communications, summarizing meetings, building checklists, writing job posts, briefing vendors, automating ops. This is a hard requirement.

Nice to have

· NPCP certification on top of your comprehensive program.

· Existing relationships in the NYC instructor community or wellness scene.

· Marketing instincts — comfortable working with PR, events and social.

Compensation & benefits

· Base salary: $60,000 – $75,000, calibrated to experience. Teaching is part of the role and included in your base — not paid separately.

· Launch / performance bonus tied to a clean September 1 opening and Q4 targets.
