Position Title: 211 Community Engagement Specialist for Mineral, Saguache, Rio Grande, Alamosa, Costilla and Conejos Counties
Reports to: Chief Impact Officer
Salary: $21.00/hour
Location: Remote – Work from home. Must live in one of the 6 counties.
Division: 211
Classification: Temporary/Part-time – 10 - 15 hours/week, no benefits

POSITION OVERVIEW: Increase the utilization of the 211 system by stakeholders, to include public and non-profit agencies, faith-based programs, and the public. The Community Engagement Specialist shall provide support services to human service agencies to assist in recruitment and maintenance in the statewide database including agency in-service presentations and technical assistance to improve database listings. The Community Engagement Specialist will also provide information to civic groups and government at all levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Searches out and recruits additional service providers in accordance with the inclusion/exclusion policy, ensuring that all Mineral, Saguache, Rio Grande, Alamosa, Costilla and Conejos citizens have access to appropriate resources, regardless of geographic location.
- Maintains information and updates resources in the neighborhood counties in the San Louis Valley.
- Develops relationships with local and state government officials to promote and increase awareness of how Pikes Peak United Way 211 assists people in their communities.
- Provides presentations to community stakeholders and displays at community events to improve the knowledge of the public of 211 as a statewide resource.
- Seeks out networking and vending opportunities at relevant conferences and professional events to increase awareness of PPUW 211.
- Provides representation of human services committees to network and collaborate with community agencies.
- Prepares regular reports on outreach activities in the approved format and time frame.
- Develops and disseminates fact sheets, 211 educational materials, promotional products, quick guide directories and other publications requested by stakeholders.
- Coordinates efforts with the Database Specialist to ensure new programs are entered correctly and problems are resolved efficiently.
- Acts as a Relief Community Resource Specialist during emergencies as needed and provides support to the PPUW 211 Director during local, regional, and statewide emergencies.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Effective public speaking skills
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Reliable and strong internet connection is a must.
- Strong work ethic with emphasis on integrity and accountability
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational and communication skills
- Reliability to complete required tasks in a prompt, effective and efficient manner
- Strong computer and analytical skills; previous database a plus.

ENVIROMENTAL FACTORS:
Business office environment; professional dress/attire expected. Physical demands of the position include the ability to talk and hear, prolonged sitting and/or standing, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and regular use of computer and telephone. The position involves frequent and routine public contact and travel to outside meetings and events. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and verifiable automobile insurance are required. Occasional evening and weekend hours are expected.
