Western Slope Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitor Aide to join our team. This position plays an important role in providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents by supporting laundry and housekeeping operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain an adequate supply of clean linens for resident care and comfort
• Inspect linens and remove damaged or stained items from service
• Collect resident laundry daily or as needed
• Label new residents’ clothing items as needed
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms
• Follow all sanitary and infection control procedures related to laundry and housekeeping duties
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies
• Operate laundry equipment and supplies safely and efficiently
• Report equipment problems or maintenance needs to the Administrator
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized laundry/work area
• Perform additional housekeeping or janitorial duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous laundry, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred but not required
  
  

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures
• Basic math skills
• Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the facility
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequent use of industrial washers, dryers, and housekeeping/laundry equipment
  
  

Work Environment

• Indoor healthcare environment
• Noise level is typically low to moderate
