Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Environmental Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental science or biology, experience in the mining and aggregate industry, strong technical writing skills, experience using Microsoft Office, and enjoy working in both office and field settings.
Duties
- Conduct water sampling and opacity monitoring in accordance with regulatory protocols.
- Conduct environmental site assessments and inspections.
- Assist with implementation of environmental management plans.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Input, analyze, and report environmental monitoring data.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Communicate environmental concerns or non-conformances to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Prepare field reports, data summaries, and assist with environmental permitting and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Science (Bachelor’s degree is an asset but not required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) and basic data entry/reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and commitment to quality work.
- Comfortable working in remote or outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to field sites.
- 1–3 years of experience in environmental fieldwork or compliance monitoring; familiarity with sampling techniques and environmental monitoring equipment; and knowledge of environmental regulations (preferred, but not required)
- Previous experience in the mining and aggregate industry (preferred, but not required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
