Back-of-House Team Members / Dishwashers – Luca & Lucy (Valley Post)

About the Role

As a BOH Team Member / Dishwasher, you will be responsible for maintaining the dish area, ensuring a clean kitchen, properly washing and sorting dirty dishes, and preparing food as needed. Keeps the dish area clutter-free and organized. Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks. Maintains clean and dry floors throughout the shift.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude

• Knowledge of proper food safety and handling procedures

• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:

• Previous experience using standard kitchen equipment, knives, scales, mixers, stock pots, grills, stoves, ovens, fryers, and other tools or utensils

• Familiarity with food service operations

Responsibilities

• Sets up, stocks, and organizes all workstations and maintains a clean and sanitized workstation and equipment throughout the shift. 
• Correctly sets up, operates, breaks down, and cleans all station equipment
• Organizes and places items in trays for the washing machine.
• Operates the washing machine and ensures items are dry before returning them to their proper storage location. 
• Washes items by hand that will not fit in the machine or are not intended for automatic washing before drying and returning items to their proper location. 
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours.
• Helps other employees to ensure the restaurant meets guest volume and completes assigned side duties.
• Understands and follows safety and sanitation practices and works with clean and sanitized tools. 
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
• Performs duties that require standing and fast movement throughout the kitchen area. 
• Performs side duties, including cleaning vents, scrubbing trash cans, cleaning gum from underneath the tables, detailed cleaning of chairs, ice bins, and restrooms, replacing light bulbs, cleaning floors, emptying trash, and taking trash to the dumpster. 
• Reports to work on time. 
• Complies with all health and safety regulations. 
• Handles multiple priorities and works well under stress
• Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth service
