Position Summary:
The Allergist treats allergies and disorders of the immune system; performs various procedures associated with routine patient encounters; works closely with department leadership and other members of the office team to provide quality care; maintains positive relationships with patients, practitioners, management and staff. Diagnose, treat, and help prevent allergic diseases and disease processes affecting the immune system. Order or perform diagnostic tests such as skin pricks and intradermal, patch, or delayed hypersensitivity tests. Such diseases can range from food allergy, medication allergy, chronic cold, bronchitis, or sinus infections, to asthma, allergic eye diseases, atopic dermatitis, and allergic rhinitis. Manage and prevent immune system disorders such as autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiency diseases.

Required Skills
- Ability to motivate department staff to achieve goals and establish effective working relationships; excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain quality control standards; ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Time management skills
- Strong patient advocate
- Active medical license in the state of California, or able to obtain prior to employment
- Completion of accredited fellowship program in allergy and immunology
- Board certified or board eligible in allergy and immunology (ABIM) American Board of Internal Medicine
- Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
- May be required to use personal auto to drive to meetings, special events or to carry out assignments as requested. This will require proof of California driver’s license and proof of insurance.
