Childcare Assistant Teacher
We are looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant Teacher to join our team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a supportive, hands-on childcare environment.
Position Overview
The Assistant Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, positive, and comfortable jumping in wherever needed throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines, activities, and transitions
- Supervise children and ensure their health, safety, and well-being throughout the day
- Engage children in play, learning activities, outdoor time, and group experiences
- Assist with meals, snacks, toileting/diapering, rest time, and other daily care routines
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Support positive behavior and age-appropriate social-emotional development
- Build warm and respectful relationships with children and families
- Follow all center policies, procedures, and state childcare licensing requirements
- Work cooperatively with teachers, administration, and other staff members
- Be dependable, punctual, and willing to help where needed
Qualifications
- Must enjoy working with young children and have a patient, caring attitude
- Previous childcare experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates who are eager to learn
- Must be dependable and able to work well as part of a team
- Ability to meet all state childcare licensing and background check requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification is a must , or willingness to acquire certification upon hire.
