Duties
- Supervise daily meat department operations, including stocking, merchandising, and quality control
- Manage inventory levels through effective purchasing, stock rotation, and inventory control practices
- Provide ongoing training and development to staff on product knowledge, customer service, and safety procedures
- Oversee sales management strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and optimize retail performance
- Implement pricing strategies and promotional displays to maximize sales and customer engagement
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations while ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are upheld
- Coordinate shift management and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations
- Foster a team-oriented environment through effective communication, motivation, and leadership skills
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with a focus on meat or perishable goods
- Strong background in inventory management, purchasing, and stock control systems
- Demonstrated ability in recruiting, interviewing, training, and supervising staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are preferred for diverse customer interactions
- Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques, merchandising principles, and retail math calculations
- Familiarity with grocery store product knowledge and retail store product knowledge is advantageous
- Prior Meat Cutting experience within the retail or grocery sector is required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple responsibilities
