Job Overview
School Food Management Company is seeking a dedicated and experienced manager for a leadership position. Our school cafeteria functions as a college style café environment. We serve breakfast and a hot lunch. The meal services are a la carte/grab and go focused. This is a full-time position. Candidates will be part of a growing and successful company that is a leader in the New Orleans area. Applicants must enjoy working in a school setting and provide a positive and uplifting experience. Must have experience managing multiple employees in a restaurant/school setting. Ideal Candidate must be willing to be flexible with their schedule as per demanded by the position. Candidate will manage day to day meal service and special events on the assigned site.
Ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:
- Must be able to pass extensive background check.
- Serve Safe Certified
- Must be able to up to 50 lbs.
- Prior experience in management role
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and POS systems.
- Preferred five years of supervisory experience in food service or restaurant.
- Excellent Leadership Skills and Employee Management
- Willingness to grow and evolve with the position
- Must have great problem-solving skills that require minimal supervision.
- Must like working with kids and interacting with people including faculty and administration.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Managing the day-to-day snack and lunch school services
- Manage a POS Machine and should have prior knowledge
- Must be able to manage multiple employees on site (8-12 employees)
- Maintain and continuously coach a friendly, safe and sanitary work environment.
- Proper record keeping including temperature logs and inventories.
- Facilitates team meeting and preforms other assignments and task as directed by Area supervisor.
- Ability to Order Product, Take Inventory and have a working knowledge of knowing what is on hand and the ability to manage the product at all times
- Scheduling, Training, Hiring and Disciplining employees.
- Experience Interacting with Client on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience. 5 or more years of related work experience.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check.
- 5 years plus management experience in Restaurant or Cafeteria Setting.
