Role Description This full-time Mechanical Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Boca Raton, FL, with flexibility for part-time work from home. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop piezoelectric motor and motion system components, including mechanical structures, assemblies, and mechanisms for high-precision applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and updating CAD models and drawings, performing mechanical analyses and tolerancing, and contributing to prototype development, testing, and validation. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams in R&D, electronics, and manufacturing to integrate mechanical designs into complete systems, resolve technical issues, and support product improvements. The Mechanical Engineer will also assist with project planning, documentation, and technical support for OEM and integrator customers to ensure reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective motion solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including mechanics, materials, and precision motion design.
- Experience in Machine Design for small, high-accuracy mechanisms and assemblies.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and detailed engineering drawings.
- Ability to contribute to Project Management activities, such as planning, scheduling, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Background in Research and Development (R&D), including prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with precision motion, piezoelectric actuators, or mechatronic systems is highly beneficial.
- Experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T, and design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document designs and present technical concepts clearly.
