Job Summary:
The Middle School Boys Track Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the boys track and field program at the middle school level. This includes organizing practices, teaching fundamental techniques, fostering sportsmanship, and ensuring the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and supervise daily track practices and meets.

Teach basic and advanced techniques for all track and field events (sprints, distance, relays, throws, jumps, etc.).

Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive team culture.

Ensure all athletes meet eligibility requirements and academic expectations.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and equipment.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administration.

Coordinate meet logistics, including transportation, rosters, and event entries.

Attend all required coaches’ meetings and training sessions.

Follow school, district, and conference rules and policies.

Supervise students before, during, and after practices and meets.

Report injuries and incidents promptly to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:

Prior coaching or competitive experience in track and field preferred.

Knowledge of track and field rules and event strategies.

Ability to motivate and mentor middle school athletes.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Must pass background check and meet district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid, coaching certification, etc.).
Working Conditions:

Practices typically held after school hours during the spring season.

Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
