What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Monitor position at Pierre School District 32-2?
School Year Shift:
Monday-Friday, 7:00AM- 9:00AM and 2:00PM-4:00PM
DEFINITION: Ride the mini-bus with children participating in the spec education school transportation program, provide assistance to ensure children get safely on and off the bus and are seated safely with the proper safety restraints. Maintain order on the bus and ensure students remain seated while the bus is in motion. Ensure students are released to proper guardians at the correct locations.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Ability to safely and securely carry out procedures. Ability to convey information effectively to children and parents while establishing a positive relationship. Knowledge of public safety and security policies and procedures. Ability to relate to and work with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school education or more desirable.
