Position Overview
PIERPOINTE is seeking a Summer Camp Director to lead and oversee our special needs summer camp program.
The ideal candidate is an organized, energetic, and compassionate leader with experience working with children and pre-teens with special needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder.
This role is responsible for supervising staff, ensuring program quality and safety, and creating a positive and supportive camp experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the summer camp program
- Supervise, train, and support camp counselors and staff
- Ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment for campers
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams as needed
- Implement and maintain schedules, activities, and behavior supports
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers
- Monitor camper progress and address concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and/or pre-teens with special needs (required)
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or camp/program management experience (preferred)
- Background in education, psychology, social work, ABA, or related field (preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team and foster a positive, inclusive culture
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Pay: $45.00 - $47.00 per hour
Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Camp Supervisor: 3 years (Preferred)
