Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool – Full Time Nights
Schedule: Full Time | 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Includes rotation of every other weekend, holidays, and two on-call shifts per 4-week period
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to practice across multiple units—Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Emergency Department (ED)—while delivering exceptional patient care in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg, ICU, and ED units.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse patient populations.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement, safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, including infection control and patient safety procedures.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Licensure:
- Current New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse license.
Certifications (Required):
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), all through AHA or RQI.
- Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certification within 2 years of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 2 years of hire.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of recent critical care or emergency nursing experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to float comfortably among ICU, ER, and Med/Surg units.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional, respectful communication with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Computer literacy and experience with EMR systems (Microsoft Office experience preferred).
