Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor?s Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is required.
Minimum Experience Required
Five (5) years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, is required, preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law
Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) required. AAB provisional certification not accepted. Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology):
Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required.
Additional Qualifications
A Master of Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.
