Cardiovascular Perfusionist
Full Time, Days
The candidate would be joining a team of 3 other experienced perfusionists, and our program does just over 200 pump cases per year along with TAVRs, laser leads, other pump standby cases, and some rare cell savers. This is an all-adult program that does every type of adult open-heart surgery except for transplants (CABGs, valves, aortas, LVADs, etc.). No Angiovacs or HIPEC. There is some occasional ECMO coverage (about 3-4 per year) that also includes extra hourly pay.
Piedmont Augusta has 3 full-time surgeons, 2 heart rooms, and 1 hybrid room. Cases are staffed using the N 1 model so that there is an extra perfusionist in house during cases.
A perfusionist will be on call for one full week and off call for 3 weeks with infrequent call-ins, offering an excellent work-life balance.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The safe and effective management of extra-corporeal support for the purpose of surgical repairs to the heart and great vessels under the supervision of the Chief Perfusionist.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited perfusion program.
Minimum Experience Required
Entry-Level Perfusionist
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law
Georgia provisional license required.
Additional Qualifications
BLS required. ACLS preferred.
