Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various therapeutic techniques and have experience working with diverse populations, including children and individuals with developmental disabilities. The Mental Health Practitioner will work closely with clinical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Duties
- Provide direct support and care to patients, assisting with daily activities and therapeutic programs.
- Conduct patient assessments and assist in the development of individualized treatment plans.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage behavioral issues effectively.
- Must be able to provide outpatient therapy in the areas of individual therapy, marriage and family, grief and trauma.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and art therapy.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records, intake assessments, and ICD coding.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts related to mental health treatment outcomes.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations while ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health care.
Qualifications
- Experience in mental health counseling, including crisis management and behavioral therapy.
- Familiarity with psychotherapeutic techniques such as psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, PTSD care, and addiction counseling.
- Background in child & family counseling or working with children is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical documentation practices.
- Previous hospital or clinic experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or chronic pain conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care while respecting diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
- LMHP with their own NPI individually credentialed with Medicaid and the MCO preferred but not a requirement.
