What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Administrative Assistant - Laurens Center for Advanced Manufacturing position at Piedmont Technical College?
Job Responsibilities
Provide front desk coverage, answer phones, monitor campus email, schedule rooms, answer student questions, relay messages to instructors, arrange catering, sign for deliveries, and perform other basic administrative functions.
Provide support (making copies, contacting students, ordering campus supplies...) for instructors and the Director, including assisting with monitoring D2L. Proctor tests and act as monitor when the instructor is unexpectedly absent.
Maintain schedule knowledge of classes at the Laurens Center for Advanced Manufacturing. Schedule requests for meeting room and classroom use by outside companies and organizations, and facilitate room set up as appropriate. Serve as first resource for trouble shooting campus computers and audiovisual (AV) equipment.
Communicate with PTC Facility Maintenance, IT, and Safety and Security Departments as appropriate. Unlock and lock campus, including the rear gate and ensure all lights and equipment are off if closing.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Candidates must have customer service experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Applicants should possess clerical skills, including knowledge of basic phone and email etiquette, and demonstrate the ability to move tables and chairs to set up meeting areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred: prior safety responsibilities, experience working with students in secondary education, and experience as an office administrator or manager. Candidates with a working knowledge of Google Drive, PTC applications such as Banner and D2L, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Reader are also preferred, along with experience troubleshooting computers and audiovisual (AV) equipment.
