Buildings & Grounds Director

Monday-Friday; 0800-1600, on call 24hrs

JOB SUMMARY: The Buildings and Grounds Director is to perform preventive maintenance and repairs upon all HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing devices, and gas equipment located in the institution. This role will report directly to the Chief of Support Services. This role will require the candidate to build/construct various projects around the facility. The candidate will also be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints.

DUTIES: This position may not include all the duties listed nor do the list of responsibilities include all tasks which may be found in this position.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, plumbing, sewer, lighting, phone, fire suppression and subsystems and devices in and outside the facility.
• Ensure that institutional rules and regulations are enforced at all times.
• Assist in training staff and counseling if needed.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical systems/subsystems with the facility.
• Maintain tools and test equipment associated with the facility.
• Maintain the security and appearance of exterior facility grounds, buildings, roads, fencing, and landscaping.
• Maintain proper key control and logs for all doors and locks within the facility.
• Maintain facility trouble logs and worksheets.
• Supervise and maintain time and schedules for staff.
• Build/fabricate items as necessary.
• Maintain inventory and security of all tools being used.
• Be available for emergencies at the facility
• Any additional duties as directed by the Superintendent/designee.

Starting Salary: $78,501

Requirements:

• Citizen of the United States
• 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Meet Minimum Requirements on Comprehensive Background Investigation
• Drug-Free
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in building/facilities maintenance, including experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead-worker experience in maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related field
