What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance position at Piedmont Public Schools?
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
Performance Responsibilities:
- Repairs/replaces items around school system. Keeps the school buildings and grounds safe and neat in appearance and able to function properly.
- Keeps machinery and other items, such as doors, locks, hinges, and door closures, etc., lubricated and serviced as necessary.
- Informs the Director of Construction/ Maintenance of the need to repair or replace equipment when found in disrepair or need of servicing.
- Picks up trash and deposits in containers provided.
- Cleans up when a job is completed.
- Performs mowing, edging, trimming of lawns, walkways and drives when needed.
- Services and maintains all maintenance equipment used by the department.
- Performs a variety of tasks as assigned through District work order system whether the request be
welding, painting, flooring, general maintenance, etc.
- Clears snow and ice from site walkways, drives and building access through the spreading of ice melt,
shoveling, scraping or by mechanical means.
- Assists in making deliveries of containers, boxes, misc. products around the District.
- Moves furniture, stages, risers, etc.
- Operates all school vehicles and equipment is a safe and lawful manner. Keeps school vehicles and equipment clean at all times.
- Practices all safety rules and regulations.
- Abides by all district, state and federal laws, policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
Terms of Employment: Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved compensation schedule and employee work calendars
Evaluation: Evaluation by Director of Construction/ Maintenance in accordance with BOE policy
Physical Demands:
- Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, or climb stairs.
- Ability to push, pull, lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work outdoors with temperature changes
- Ability to operate motorized equipment
- Exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, and gases, etc.
