What are the responsibilities and job description for the Database Administrator- IT Department position at Piedmont Public Schools?
- Help parents/students get logged into PowerSchool and answer questions
- Help teachers with gradebooks and attendance questions
- Help administrators with PowerSchool use and login questions
- Help build elementary teacher sections for the new school year
- Run weekly data checks to ensure that data is clean.
- Enter/update standards in PowerSchool for upcoming school year
- Run end of year reports from PowerSchool to keep for our own records
- Export and format data in Excel for various school systems (Transfinder and RankOne)
- Add dummy data to test server for teacher trainings
- Help analyze data in state reporting to identify discrepancies between PowerSchool and the state that need to be addressed (fall and spring reporting).
- Gather extra documentation from other departments that are due with state reporting.
- Be available to resolve end user tickets, especially during reporting season when Joy is busy resolving state reporting issues.
- Prepare and check that data is clean and ready for reports (Example: Going through each course section to ensure that all data is entered correctly in preparation for the CRDC report)
- Create tutorials for registrars/other admin users.
- Attend weekly WAVE meetings (spotlight)
- Go through class-by-class and make sure all students are showing on the class size report.
- Help gather extra documentation that must be sent with the report (out-of-home placement, 3-year-old IEP, DVP documentation, consecutive absence documentation, OSS documentation)
- Report card issues around state reporting time.
