Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and market expansion within an assigned region by leading a team of Sales Representatives, developing strategic customer relationships, and aligning sales initiatives with company objectives. This role oversees sales operations and coaches and develops sales talent and ensures customer satisfaction through innovative packaging solutions. The Regional Sales Manager collaborates closely with senior leadership, customer service, and other departments to achieve revenue and profitability goals while representing Piedmont National Corporation in the community and industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead, coach, and develop a team of Outside Sales Representatives to achieve regional sales goals.
· Establish regional sales strategies, set performance targets, and monitor progress against revenue and profitability objectives.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, leveraging deep understanding of customer needs to deliver tailored packaging solutions.
· Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast regional sales, prepare budgets, and identify growth opportunities.
· Partner with customer service, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
· Identify, pursue, and secure high-value opportunities that expand market share within the assigned region.
· Conduct regular field visits with sales staff to observe performance, provide coaching, and reinforce best practices.
· Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies and product offerings.
· Represent Piedmont National at trade shows, networking events, and community engagements to promote the company’s brand and services.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and continuous training requirements.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring sales professionals.
· Strong business acumen with ability to analyze data, prepare forecasts, and drive strategic decisions.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Ability to develop and execute regional business plans aligned with corporate objectives.
· High energy, personal integrity, and ability to motivate teams to achieve stretch goals.
· Solid understanding of distribution models and providers in the packaging industry preferred.
· Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficient with sales technologies (CRM, MS Office Suite, etc.).
· Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required.
· Minimum of 5–7 years of sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role.
· Experience in packaging, distribution, or related industry strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
