Piedmont Metals is a full-service Structural Steel Fabricator based in Burlington, North Carolina. We are a 3rd generation metal fabrication facility, specializing in OEM component parts/weldments primarily in the ship building, railcar, and heavy equipment industries. We have supplied fabricated steel across the U.S. since 1954.
Experienced Structural Steel Layout/Fabricator
- Seeking experienced Layout/Fabricator for structural steel components per drawings/specs
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Required Skills:
- D.1.1 test and fabrication test is required and performed at the site.
- Experience in welding/fitting.
- Experience in structural steel welding preferred.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and read a tape line.
1st Shift - M-Thurs 6am to 4pm - Friday 6am to 2:00 pm - Weekends as needed
