This supervisor will work directly with the operations manager and other department leaders and will be required to run jobs on the shop floor as well as manage other employees and their jobs at hand. CNC Lathe/Mill - Supervisor
The CNC Lathe/Mill - Supervisor will manage, direct, and coordinate the overall production operations for the Lathe/Mill group. 4 VMCs, 1 HMC, 9 Lathes and (1) 5 Axis Machine. He/she will ensure production personnel are operating in compliance with all company procedures. He/she must ensure continuous improvement is accomplished regarding increasing efficiency, reducing scrap, and meeting delivery requirements. The CNC Lathe/Mill Supervisor will manage programming, delivery schedule, machine tool/operator utilization and daily production.
Required experience:
- CNC Machining: 7 years
- Programming/CAD/CAM: 6 years
- Read and Interpretation of Blueprints and tooling.
- GD&T knowledge is preferred
- Ability to set up and operate horizontal milling, vertical milling, and lathe turning centers: 7 years
Specifics
- Read blueprints and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
- Design and fabricate components.
- Operate CNC mills, manual mills, CNC lathes and manual lathes.
- Machine to close tolerance dimensions ( /- .001)
- Machine materials including aluminum, steel, stainless steel and plastics.
- Ability to program FANUC, MORI SEIKI, YASNAC and HAAS controls via long hand and utilizing programming tools
- Utilize tool changers
- Proficient with G & M codes
- Working knowledge of CAD
- Load, align and set up machines per drawing instructions.
- Working knowledge of CNC and engineering requirements.
- Maintain a tool inventory in good repair and sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures.
- Optimize work flow with proper scheduling of resources to complete work ahead of time and under budget.
- Answer technical questions from others and find solutions efficiently.
- Communicate with all other departments to ensure proper workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Ensure all members of the department team have turned in time sheets, both accurately and timely.

- Proficient knowledge of machining and cutting tools.
- Thorough understanding of measuring tools and gauging processes.
- Financial analysis tools (labor and overhead costing, justification, etc.).
