What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025-26 Reading Support Teacher - Piedmont Intermidiate position at Piedmont Intermediate?
Qualifications: Credentials, as required by the State of Oklahoma.
Reports to: Site Principal and/ or Assistant Principal
Performance Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing a Site Reading Program, in compliance with state Reading Sufficiency Act requirements.
- Collaborate with district leadership and other reading specialists to discuss and coordinate in regards to RSA law, student needs, district-wide programs, resources and the district RSA Plan.
- Communicates with principal, teachers, and district leadership to determine resources may be needed and purchased through RSA funds.
- Inform/update principals, teachers and staff of changes made to Site RSA Plan and Law.
- Assist principal in ensuring compliance with the Reading Sufficiency Act requirements at the site level, including site RSA Plan and required RSA reporting.
- Facilitate Response to Intervention data team meetings.
- Maintain accurate Reading Sufficiency Act, Academic Progress Plan, and Response to Intervention records.
- Coordinate, train teachers, and supervise administration of state and district assessments to students.
- Assist classroom teachers in development and implementation of RSA Academic Progress Plan for qualifying students.
- Coordinate the communication of student progress through progress reports, parent/teacher conferences, and other means of communication.
- Provide intensive reading instruction to students qualifying based on state and district required assessments.
- Provide trainings for teachers and parents including, but not limited to, parent nights, parent communication, instructional coaching for teachers, and professional development sessions.
- Serve as a resource for the teachers and parents.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Abides by all district, federal and state laws, policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Terms of Employment: Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved certified schedule and employee work calendars
Evaluation: Evaluation by site principal and/ or assistant principal in accordance with BOE Policy DNA Teacher Evaluation
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, squat frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to do outside duties in inclement weather.
- Ability to walk or move long distances from location to location around the building multiple times each day.
