Minimum Experience : 1 year; 1st Timers not accepted
Patient Population : Adults to Geriatrics
General Skills and Work Setting Requirements : Overflow IMCU; Arrhythmia management; Cardioversion, Cardiac CHF, Chest pain, Renal, Pulmonary (COPD, empysema, pulmonary edema) PE, DVT Cardiac Arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia) Surgical (cholecystectomy, appy's, chest tubes, biliary drains) Occasional vascular patients, Post Cardiac Cath, TR Bands, DKA. Occasional Ortho or CVA patient overflow- These patients are transferred as soon as possible to appropriate unit; TR Bands, EXP with cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring and care of pts post PCI is a must as well as EVERYTHING under the MEd / Surg umbrella, Basic arrhythmia knowledge, Cardiac Drip knowledge : amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex and lasix
Ratio / Census : 1 : 5-6; 32 beds
Unit Systems : Epic (Preferred), Pyxis, SBAR
Scrub Color : Navy Blue
RTO : MAX 7 days
Weekends : Every other weekend
Floating : Yes, within the facility
Call Requirements : Call is rare, response time is 2 hours. Travelers typically do not get Precedex, this is for core staff to manage
Holidays : If one major holiday falls in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
Job Requirements
Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS
Compliance : Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
Pre-Screen : Candidate will be reviewed by clinical to determine clinical fit, if clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines, candidate will be sent to the manager for final decision.

Weekends : Every other weekend
Holidays : If one major holiday falls in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.

AHA or ARC accepted. RQI Certs acceptable. CL’s – Please reference UD to determine if this is required for this specialty. If UD states “preferred”, please note in the CR notes. If the UD is missing, please reference the “Clinical tracks” documents under the facility profile / documents.
