Duties

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to health and safety standards, ensuring proper food handling and presentation.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, and food warmers.
• Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and dining areas in compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
• Assist with food portioning, packaging, and processing cash transactions at the point of sale using POS systems.
• Support manual handling tasks such as weight handling of food supplies and equipment setup.
• Follow strict food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Provide friendly in-person customer service to students and staff, creating a welcoming dining atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food preparation or food service environments such as restaurants, catering, or hospitality is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and handling practices is essential.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently; previous culinary or banquet experience is a plus.
• Strong manual handling skills for lifting and moving supplies or equipment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
• Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward students and staff.
• Experience with POS systems for processing transactions accurately.
• Food industry or hospitality experience that demonstrates reliability and teamwork is highly valued.
