About the Role:
As an ABA Therapist, your primary responsibility will be to provide one-on-one applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). You will play a crucial role in helping clients develop and improve their social, communication, and behavioral skills. By implementing evidence-based interventions and strategies, you will contribute to the overall well-being and progress of individuals with ASD. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of your clients and their families, as you help them navigate the challenges associated with ASD and promote their independence and inclusion in society.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years of age (per BACB licensure requirements)
- Clear background check
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (i.e. kneeling, sitting – in both a chair and on the floor, squatting, standing, etc.) for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted
- Willingness to obtain RBT certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Experience working as an ABA Therapist or in a similar role
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity
- CPR and First Aid certification
Responsibilities:
- Providing a safe, organized environment for effective learning to occur
- Teaching expressive and receptive communication skills through the use of applied behavior analysis and verbal behavior techniques as outlined in the client's daily lesson plan
- Teaching daily living skills such as dressing, toileting, hand washing, toothbrushing, feeding, and other hygiene related tasks
- Entering data on teaching trials and behavior goals into Catalyst, an iPad program
- Following individualized behavior plans written by the client's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Communicating with caregivers through objective, data driven notes and in person interactions
- Upholding the Registered Behavior Technician Ethics Code
Salary : $18 - $20
