Job Purpose

This role will be double coded, primarily as a Part Time Housekeeping Supervisor and upon business demands a Room Attendant. A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the cleanliness and the quality of the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, and other facilities consistently meet hotel standards while supervising the housekeeping team. Room Attendants perform thorough cleaning tasks, including changing bed linens, dusting surfaces, vacuuming, and ensuring pristine bathrooms. Their responsibilities extend to an exceptional level of cleaning, enhancing the overall hygiene and presentation of assigned rooms and guest accommodation. Both roles are integral to providing a positive guest experience by upholding cleanliness standards and contributing to the seamless operation of hotel services.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position entails the following tasks and job functions:

Directly supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring that they are adequately trained, well-equipped, and motivated.

Regularly inspect guest rooms, public areas, and other facilities to ensure they meet hotel standards.

Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints; ensure guest satisfaction

Ensure the correct and efficient use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; reorder as needed.

Monitor laundry operations, ensuring the quality and efficiency of linen cleaning.

Collaborate with the Front Desk and Maintenance departments to communicate room availability and any maintenance needs.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Provide a clean, safe and well-maintained guest room for all guests of the hotel.

Perform cleaning tasks such as scrubbing grout, deep cleaning baseboards, door frames, windows and vents, deep cleaning toilet base shower doors, shower heads, curtains and shampooing sofa and rugs.

Scrubbing walls, lamp shades, vacuuming along wall edges and crevices.

Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Perform various linen processes: retrieve soil linen from hospital units, sort soil linen, launder linen, dry linen and coordinate delivery of clean linens.

Perform repetitive work or perform continually the same work according to a set procedure, sequence or pace.

Provide a clean, safe and well-maintained guest room for all guests of the hotel.

Thoroughly clean guest rooms as assigned, including, but not limited to making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming to hotel standards.

Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Perform any further duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a conversational level of English.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in housekeeping or hotel management.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

Proficiency in using computer software, including property management systems.

Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment.

Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.

Pay: $26.42 - $26.77 per hour
