Position Overview
The Head Coach oversees all pickleball operations, programming, and coaching at Pickleball Kingdom. This role leads the coaching team, manages player development programs, organizes leagues, tournaments, and clinics, and promotes pickleball throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise the pickleball coaching team; act as the senior leader when the GM or Shift Leads are unavailable.
· Plan and execute all pickleball programming at least two weeks in advance.
· Develop and implement training programs for coaches, focusing on technique, strategy, and game management.
· Create and deliver new clinics and lesson offerings based on player demand.
· Serve as the Pickleball 101 Coach with a goal of converting 50% of participants into ongoing members or players.
· Organize and conduct lessons, leagues, junior programs, clinics, and tournaments for all levels.
· Promote pickleball in the local community through events, partnerships, and outreach initiatives.
· Recruit, train, and mentor new pickleball coaches.
· Manage the Pickleball Ambassador Program, including weekly reports and performance metrics.
· Ensure the Pro Shop is fully stocked and well-presented.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for all guests.
· Handle escalated customer issues with professionalism and care.
· Communicate effectively with management regarding operations, staffing, and feedback.
· Lead by example—fostering teamwork, positivity, and exceptional hospitality.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Must be 18 years or older.
· Certified Pickleball Instructor (required).
· DUPR certified (preferred).
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
· Basic computer and POS knowledge.
· Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
· Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Experience coaching juniors preferred.
