This position is for current students enrolled in the School District of Pickens County.
General Statement of Job
- Cleans and maintains assigned vehicle(s), tools, and test equipment. Performs all duties in compliance with District and department policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.
- Have the ability to use District technology and required maintenance related software
- Must have the ability to get along with fellow workers and personnel at the schools throughout the district.
- Must have good character.
- Prompt and regular attendance is essential.
Reports to: Assistant Director of Maintenance.
Example of Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Functions:
- Be able to give and receive oral & written instructions.
- Make recommendations to the coordinator for equipment that needs replacing.
- Locate and order (with approval) supplies and repair parts according to state procurement law.
- Must be willing to show leadership by example.
Essential Functions:
- Have the ability and assist other trade technicians whenever work tasks cross.
- Make regular inspection of plumbing systems and repair or replace, as necessary.
- Insure that proper preventive maintenance is performed on plumbing systems and components.
- Make routine repairs and replacements to plumbing systems including kitchen equipment.
- Maintain necessary DHEC certification for backflow prevention inspection/repairs and, be proficient with underground utility location tools and devices.
- Maintain sprinkler systems and storm drainage systems.
- Maintain grease traps.
Additional Duties:
Perform all other Maintenance/Custodial related duties as required by the supervisor.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Pickens County School District Student
- Must be in good physical condition. Able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing ladders or walking.
- Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise. Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions.
- Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license.
