Brief Job Description:
· Conduct or assist in individual counseling, group counseling, education, and any other programs as assigned.
· Assist with the development of treatment plans, and be responsible for maintaining up-to-date recordkeeping. The Community Counselor is responsible for the chart to be relevant and tell the story of that particular client.
· The Community Counselor is to be aware of the need for expert client care and to handle themselves and their behavior by the ethical standards of the credentialing board.
· May be necessary to prepare progress reports for attorneys, court, probation officers, and others
· Complete client case notes in appropriate time frames
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
· Abide by HIPAA privacy and PHI security rules
· Be a liaison between courts, jails, and treatment agencies
Education/Skill Requirements:
1. Minimum CDCA, with potential to become a licensed clinician
2. Work experience with population, minimum of 6 months preferred
3. Current ODM provider number
4. Understanding of BH Terminology and ICD 10 Codes
5. Excellent Electronic Health Record skills
6. Experience with completing prior authorizations for MCOs.
7. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
