What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bakery Clerk position at Pick N Save?
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting bakery items and provide excellent customer service
- Operate the Aloha POS system to process sales transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area
- Prepare and package bakery items according to established guidelines
- Follow food safety protocols and ensure proper handling and storage of bakery products
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of bakery items
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely production of bakery products
- Provide assistance to other areas of the restaurant as needed, such as bussing tables
Skills:
- Previous experience in food service or a bakery setting is preferred
- Proficiency in operating the Aloha POS system or similar point-of-sale software
- Strong sales skills and ability to upsell bakery items to customers
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and basic baking techniques is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management purposes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food safety standards
