The Role
Piccadilly Market - Lincoln Park is seeking an experienced and organized Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations. This role serves as the operational leader of the back-of-house team, ensuring exceptional food quality, smooth service execution, strong kitchen systems, and a positive kitchen culture.
The Kitchen Manager works closely with the Executive Chef to execute menus, maintain standards, manage labor and food costs, and develop a high-performing kitchen team. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coaching teams while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Lead daily kitchen operations and service execution.
- Ensure food is prepared and served according to company standards, recipes, and quality expectations.
- Manage inventory, ordering, product organization, and food cost controls in partnership with the Executive Chef.
- Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Support kitchen stations as needed during service.
- Coordinate prep schedules and production to ensure service readiness.
- Supervise, coach, and develop hourly kitchen employees.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
- Create systems that promote consistency, accountability, and team success.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture.
- Provide performance coaching and feedback when needed.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and company food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen.
- Lead daily and weekly cleaning procedures while ensuring proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature controls.
- Partner with the Executive Chef on menu execution and recipe standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure smooth service.
- Support catering, private events, and special programming as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen leadership experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar position.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, and food cost controls.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- ServSafe Manager Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work comfortably in hot and cold kitchen environments.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in varied kitchen environments.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays.

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
