- 5 years of power plant operations experience, preferably in a coal-fired generating facility
- Strong experience operating and troubleshooting boilers, steam turbine-generators, air quality control systems, and balance-of-plant equipment
- Working knowledge of DCS-based plant operations and environmental compliance systems

This role is responsible for operating and monitoring plant equipment and systems, performing equipment inspections and rounds, supporting troubleshooting activities, and coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure unit reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems including boilers, steam turbine-generators, air quality control systems, water treatment, ash handling, and combustion turbines
- Interface with the plant Distributed Control System (DCS) to support plant operations and environmental compliance
- Perform detailed equipment rounds and inspections; identify abnormal conditions and take corrective action
- Troubleshoot equipment and system issues and initiate corrective maintenance actions
- Create, review, and manage work requests in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Safely perform clearance, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and isolation activities in accordance with plant procedures
- Communicate operational status, equipment conditions, and plant issues to shift supervision and plant leadership
- Support minor maintenance activities, equipment cleaning, and general housekeeping
- Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required to support plant operations
- Prior experience operating equipment in a power plant - coal-fired power plant experience strongly preferred
- Experience with air quality control systems; dry scrubber experience preferred
- Exposure to combustion turbines and balance-of-plant equipment
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical one-lines, logic diagrams, and operating procedures
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and process systems
- Solid understanding of industrial safety practices including LOTO, confined space, fall protection, and PPE
- Ability to clearly communicate with operations, maintenance, and plant leadership
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license required
- 5 years of power plant operations experience; coal-fired experience strongly preferred
