Key Project Requirements

  • 10 years of electrical construction, quality oversight, or owner's representative experience on utility-scale power generation or heavy industrial projects.
  • Combined cycle power plant experience required; Mitsubishi gas turbine experience (J-Class preferred) strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in electrical construction inspections, contractor oversight, and system completion/turnover.
  • Experience with high-voltage electrical systems, substations, switchyards, or converter stations is highly desirable.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Quality Lead to support construction of a new 840 MW combined cycle power plant in Delta, Utah. This position will serve as the owner's representative for electrical construction activities, providing field oversight to verify that work is performed safely, in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The Electrical Lead will work closely with EPC contractors, engineers, and project management to monitor installation quality, resolve field issues, support system completion, and ensure a successful turnover to commissioning and operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee electrical construction activities to verify work is completed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Perform routine field inspections, construction walkdowns, and quality verification of electrical installations, identifying deficiencies and supporting timely resolution of punch list items.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, material submittals, and construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, engineering, commissioning, and project management teams to resolve technical issues while maintaining project schedule and quality expectations.
  • Verify contractor compliance with project quality requirements, installation standards, safety procedures, and approved construction practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Maintain inspection reports, field observations, deficiency logs, turnover documentation, and system completion records.
  • Support project closeout activities, including turnover package reviews, final inspections, commissioning readiness, and turnover to plant operations.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices for combined cycle power plants or other utility-scale industrial facilities.
  • Experience supporting electrical construction quality, owner's representative activities, field engineering, or QA/QC oversight.
  • Prior combined cycle experience is required; Mitsubishi gas turbine experience, preferably J-Class, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with high-voltage electrical systems, substations, switchyards, converter stations, power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and electrical balance-of-plant equipment is highly desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and electrical industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Experience supporting system completion, turnover packages, punch list management, and commissioning readiness.

Education / Experience

  • 10 years of experience in electrical construction, field engineering, construction quality, QA/QC, or owner's representative roles supporting utility-scale power generation or heavy industrial projects.
  • Previous experience supporting large combined cycle power plant construction projects is required.
  • Professional certifications such as PE, NICET, NETA, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or other relevant industry certifications are considered a plus.
