Position: Produce Clerk

Piazza's Fine Foods (www.piazzasfinefoods.com), an upscale, family-owned grocery store, is seeking part time/full time produce clerks for our Produce Department. We especially need late afternoon/evening/closing shift availability.

Example of Duties

• Use wet rack to transport produce from backroom to sales floor.
• Cut and package fruit and vegetables for sale.
• Provide customer service to all customers in the store and department, including offering samples of produce.
• Prepare fresh salad bags.
• Clean backroom and take out the garbage.
• Check the sales floor for any spills/trip hazards and sweep/mop area two to three times per day and as needed.

Requirements, Skills and Experience:

• 1-3 years of customer service experience in a busy grocery store or similar environment preferred.
• Understanding the importance and the ability to work well as part of a dynamic, diverse team.
• Must be able to use standard produce department equipment correctly and safely.
• Knowledge of produce, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques
• Follow all safety rules and actively prevent accidents.
• Availability and willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.; stand, bend, reach, twist, and turn for up to 4 hours continuously.
• Must be at least 18 years.

Background Checks Required for All New Hires

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.25 - $20.65 per hour
