Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our overnight healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and teaching hospitals. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, assisting them with daily activities, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. This position is for 12 hour shifts, 6:00pm- 6:30am. The PCNH prides itself on having the latest equipment, abundance of supplies, and a facility that is clean and well maintained which includes a state of the art air filtration system throughout the entire building.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide support in emergency situations by following established protocols for emergency medicine.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control procedures.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and needs.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care in both hospital and long-term care settings.
- Assist in the mobility of patients by helping them move safely within the facility.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to geriatrics and pediatric care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a nursing assistant training program preferred.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in patient care settings is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in geriatrics is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a compassionate demeanor toward patients.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing healthcare environments.
