What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursery Laborer position at Piala's Nursery & Garden Shop, Inc.?
Piala's Nursery & Garden Shop, Inc. is currently seeking General Laborers for our retail nursery. These seasonal positions run the duration of our operating season, which is typically from mid-March through mid-December (when the weather turns inclement), and offer 40 hours per week. Overtime is available, but not required. Candidates MUST be able to safely operate a skid loader or be able and willing to learn.
This position is ideal for a self-driven individual that is willing to learn quickly and able to take direction from management. The General Laborer position is physically demanding, requiring manual work in all weather conditions. Horticulture and/or farming experience is ideal, but not required. Compensation package is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Operate tractor and/or skid loader
- Tend to all aspects of plant care, including weeding and watering
- Assist with loading, tagging, and stocking merchandise
- Assemble sales floor designs
- Assist Nursery Manager and Nursery Foreman with daily nursery operations as directed
Salary : $13 - $18
