Piala's is a family owned and operated nursery, garden shop, and full-service landscape design-build company located in Southeastern Wisconsin. We pride ourselves on our quality plant stock, experienced installation crews, and talented designers.
Piala’s Nursery & Garden Shop, Inc. is seeking Horticulturalists for our retail nursery. These seasonal positions run the duration of our operating season, which is typically from mid-March through mid-December (when the weather turns inclement). We have full and part-time positions available. Overtime is available, but not required. Scheduled work hours include Saturdays and / or Sundays from April through October.
The qualified individual will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and be able to maintain a professional appearance. Must be able to regularly lift 40lbs. 5 years of relevant horticulture experience or education is required. The ability to operate tractors and / or skid loaders, or willingness to learn, is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities :
- Assist Nursery Manager and Nursery Foreman with daily nursery operations as directed
- Assist with plant propagation as needed
- Assist customers with plant selections, care and identification
- Assist with loading, tagging, and stocking merchandise
- Assemble sales floor designs
- Tend to all aspects of plant care, including weeding, watering and maintaining the health, quality and appearance of plants and sales lot
- Stay up to date with, and keep management informed on, new horticultural products and practices in the industry
- Comply with all regulatory agencies that affect the retail garden center and horticultural operations of the company
- Must be at least 18 years old
- 5 years of horticulture experience or Associates degree in Horticulture
- Hold a Pesticide Applicator License (3.0 – Turf & Landscape); if one is not currently held, must be willing to obtain and maintain a Pesticide Applicator License

Salary : $16 - $22
