We have an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Materials Specialist to support operations at our Headquarters in Hopkinton, MA. The Manufacturing Materials Specialist manages the material flow or throughput to ensure Manufacturing has what is needs to be successful. This could include such activity as inventory control, production usage, materials forecasting and identifying potential bottlenecks, issues before they occur. The Manufacturing Materials Specialist may perform an array of functions detailed below.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and monitor material demand and supply to ensure the correct material is stocked and available to manufacturing as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Production Leads and Procurement team to ensure proper staging, scheduling, and availability of materials.
- Analyze manufacturing materials usage data of purchased items to detect changes in trends, recommending action appropriately.
- Conduct materials cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy of the inventory data recorded in the ERP system.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Procurement to communicate potential stock outs, identify actions being taken to overcome stock outs, expedite shortages, and communicate due dates for replenishment.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and measuring performance of team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Effectively drive master scheduling activities to analyze production requirements utilizing MRP/ERP system driven requirements.
- Generate manufacturing orders (MO’s) that steer optimal production and material demand.
- Actively participate in lean activities and contribute to our MRB and ECO teams.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required and as business needs require.
What Have You Done:
- 3-5 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment managing the process deliverables of how products get made.
- Proficiency with data collection and management; the ideal candidate can collect, analyze and recommend improvements, backed by data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Motivated by the results and measurement of the details; capacity to assist teams record keeping, elevating the manufacturing process through efficiencies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of job-shop manufacturing and the manufacturing processes and cost structure is a plus.
- Familiarity with Infor LN ERP system is ideal.
- Proven experience in effectively driving master scheduling activities to analyze production requirements utilizing MRP/ERP systems.
- Solid shop/floor experience.
- Solid MS Office skills required. Expert-level MS Excel skills are a plus.
