Key Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding and Verification:
- Manage end-to-end onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all documentation and information is accurately captured.
- Conduct initial and periodic KYC checks on new and existing clients to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- Assist clients through the onboarding process, address any queries, and provide guidance on required documentation.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment:
- Perform risk-based analysis, evaluating client profiles to determine risk rating, and escalate findings when necessary.
- Screen clients for sanctions, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons), and adverse media using internal and external databases.
- Monitor and analyze high-risk clients and transactions, providing recommendations for enhanced due diligence when required.
Documentation and Data Management:
- Ensure that all client documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with regulatory standards and bank policies.
- Maintain and update client records, ensuring that KYC data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for audits or regulatory requests.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed of changes in KYC/AML regulations and best practices, implementing changes to onboarding processes as needed.
- Liaise with the Compliance team to address complex cases and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Conduct periodic reviews of client data and documentation to support ongoing compliance efforts.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with internal teams, including Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Client Services, to streamline onboarding processes and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any onboarding challenges promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
- 3 years in client onboarding, KYC, AML, or compliance within the financial services or investment banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of KYC/AML regulatory requirements (e.g., FATCA, FINRA, OFAC, and FINTRAC) and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with KYC screening tools (World-Check, LexisNexis, or equivalent) and CRM/Onboarding platforms.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction and cross-department collaboration.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are a plus.
