Application Developer

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications that support business and user needs. This role involves hands-on development, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. The ideal candidate has strong programming fundamentals, experience with modern development frameworks, and a collaborative mindset. Prior experience within an investment banking or financial services environment is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications in alignment with functional and technical requirements.

• Build new application features and enhance existing functionality.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and performance issues.

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to development standards.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Support application deployments, upgrades, and production issues as needed.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and best practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, and/or SQL.

• Experience working with application development frameworks and modern development tools.

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in investment banking, capital markets, or financial services environments.

• Exposure to agile or DevOps development practices.

• Experience with relational databases and data modeling.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
