Position Title: Club Manager for our Physiq Fitness Albany location.
Reports To: Area Director
Supervises: Department Heads, Supervisors, and Frontline Staff
Work Schedule: Average 40 hours per week

General Accountabilities
- Member/ Guest Relations
- Developing relationships with each person and helping them reach their goals and achieve results.
- Provide excellent customer experience to each member and guest by managing by walking around.
- Creating an atmosphere of Continuous Improvement not only for the members but staff as well.
- Respond to customers and staff promptly

- Creating an environment of teamwork by working alongside the staff and inspecting what’s expected.

- Sharing knowledge and experience with all supervisors, and frontline staff.
- Using creativity and innovation to update and upgrade current practices.
- Create an environment for staff to use their ideas to improve the systems we currently run. Use rifle shots to try these ideas.
- Recognize staff for exceptional performance.
- Contribute to the direct reports evaluations.
- Creating an environment of teamwork by working alongside the staff and inspecting what’s expected.
- Facilities
- Having an uncommon commitment to our physical environment.
- Meet weekly with the maintenance team to discuss what needs attention.
- Follow up through the week to assure the tasks were completed.
- Teaching and coaching supervisors and frontline staff to use and follow checklists and current practices in all areas of the facility.
- Evaluate each area in the facility and check for opportunities for improvement.
- Strategic planning for the facility
- Create the strategic plan for the club to hit monthly and yearly goals and targets
- Review the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats we currently have.
- Use this data to improve offerings and programs.
- Develop each area of planning.
- Implement the plan, evaluate for future improvements.
- Financial
- Review daily the hours budgeted and hours actually used.
- Make adjustments with hours if necessary according to traffic using the
- Meet or be under the budget set for each department.
Other Responsibilities:
- Attend all management team meetings
- Attend all Supervisor meetings
- Attend all budget meetings.
- Order name tags for all staff.
- Ensure clubs meet cleaning expectations
- Integrate with all other departments at a high level.
- Handle every interaction with co-workers with respect and confidentiality.
- Praise publicly, reprimand privately.
- Hiring, training, and evaluating personnel in all departments, promoting or firing workers when appropriate, and doing regular performance reviews.
- Assign employees to specific duties and tasks.
- Enforce safety, health, and security rules.
- Examine merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed and that it functions as advertised.
- Canceling, freezing, and downgrading accounts
- Account collections on daily delinquents and return for collections.
- Assists in solving store problems that affect store service and efficiency.
- Performs daily club walks to ensure the club is up to corporate standards.
- Works with the Lead Instructor the Fitness Manager on class schedules for Team Training and Group Fitness
Experience/ education/ certifications
- Communication skills must be excellent.
- CPR/AED certified.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree or at least 2 years of experience as manager preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience as manager or leadership position in retail.
