Responsibilities
- Accountable to assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case
- Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
- Understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon
- Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification
Preferred Job Requirements
- Previous work experience as a surgical tech
- Previous ORT/CST experience.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
