What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Medical Assistant position at Physicians of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics?
Who We Are:
Physicians of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is a busy, growing primary care practice dedicated to delivering high-quality care to patients of all ages. We’re looking to hire ASAP and want a motivated, compassionate Medical Assistant who thrives in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Support providers in delivering excellent patient care
- Perform phlebotomy and assist with lab procedures
- Take and document vital signs, BMI, and medical histories
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR
- Schedule lab work, follow up on results, and communicate with patients
- Handle prior authorizations, medication refills, and pharmacy coordination
- Manage medical faxes and administrative workflows
- Lead back-office operations in collaboration with the Practice Manager while ensuring adherence to office policies
- Balance a role that is approximately 60% administrative and 40% clinical responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities and be tech-savvy in a fast-paced environment
- Assist with both clinical and front-office responsibilities as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Phlebotomy experience required
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Athena or Office Ally EMR systems
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation
- BLS certification
- Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medication administration
- Strong patient service and customer care skills
- Experience in primary care or clinical settings

Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday–Friday (day shift)
- Occasional one Saturday a month
